Listen To Vera Farmiga's Metal Band "THE YAGAS" Debut First Single "THE CRYING ROOM"

Oscar and Emmy-nominated actress, Vera Farmiga, is well known for her roles in The Conjuring Universe as Lorraine Warren but now she is taking on her biggest role yet, the front-woman for a new metal band called “THE YAGAS” and we have your first listen to the bands single “The Crying Room” below.

The video for “The Crying Room” was released on Friday and over the weekend has found massive support with over 285k views in just three days—the video stars Farmiga as well as Eugene Hutz of the band Gogol Bordello. Besides having an otherworldly feel to the video it is a political statement for the people of Ukraine. Both Farmiga and Hutz are of Ukrainian descent thus making the song and video more poignant.

The Yagas are Renn Hawkey of Deadsy (keys), Jason Bowman (drums), Mark Visconti (guitar) Mike Davis (bass), and Vera Farmiga (Lead Vocals)

Said Vera Farmiga in a statement about the song via RockCellar Magazine.

“’The Crying Room’ is about release and relief. It’s about crying your heart clean. It’s a song that was filmed during and in the aftermath of an eclipse, and is about the eclipse of our soul. Eclipses have potent effects on our psychology. They are energetic portals that trigger epiphanies and outpouring of emotion. They help us shift. Humans are capable of getting stuck in our shadows from time to time. It’s in this balancing of the shadow and light, one literally eclipsing the other, that we have an opportunity to look deep into our hearts and what is going on internally and bring that into the light, no matter how dark it is.”

We don’t know about you but this song has a vibe of sorrow and mystery. If we had to compare it, we would say it’s a mix of The Cure and Type O Negative because when the hook comes in, the guitars get dirty and heavy which we love. Farmiga’s voice is haunting and truly fits well in the genre.

The Yagas are expected to release a full-length album and tour so be ready for those tour dates when we get them.
