Macabre Headlines: Las Vegas Man Kills Roommate, Lived With Body For Months Thinking She Would Come Back Like In 'THE GRUDGE'

Police arrested a 31-year-old man this week who allegedly killed his female roommate and kept her body in a closet for two months.

According to a news release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, on Wednesday, July 26, at around 2:27 p.m., officers responded to a home in the 5300 block of Railroad River Avenue in reference to a possible deceased woman. A family member called 911 to report that George Bone had told her Beverly Ma "was in the closet and had been there for two months," KLAS-TV reports.

Police reportedly found Ma's body and said she "appeared to have been deceased for an extended period of time."

Ma and Bone allegedly met in high school, became friends, and moved in with each other last year.

According to KLAS, a witness told authorities she saw a very high air conditioning bill, so she went into the home on Wednesday, July 26, and Bone showed her the body.

Police told KLAS the witness "noticed a cooler against the bedroom closet door, and the bottom of the door had a towel, which covered the gap." Bone reportedly "told her that she can open it and see."

In an interview with police, Bone reportedly disclosed that Ma died in May. On May 4, KLAS reports that Ma called 911 to report a man and woman screaming at each other, but when officers arrived and knocked on the door, no one answered. Investigators reportedly believe Bone strangled her that day, but the Clark County Coroner's Office will confirm Ma's cause and manner of death.

According to KLAS, after Ma's death, Bone ordered multiple items through the victim's Amazon account.

Police asked Bone why he didn't call for help, and Bone reportedly said he was "afraid of going back to jail for being found with a dead body."

KLAS reports that Bone told police he put a cooler next to the closet where Ma's body was in case "Beverly rose from the dead like the movie 'The Grudge.'"

Police arrested Bone and booked him into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of open murder and failing to register as a sex offender.

In 2012, KLAS reports that a student came forward and said Bone had "inappropriately touched" her when she was 11 years old while they were living together. Henderson police arrested him on charges of sexual assault and lewdness in connection with the allegations.

The next year, Bone entered a plea deal on a charge of attempted lewdness with a child under the age of 14.
