McKenna Grace Confirms She Will Be Returning For 'GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE' Sequel

Earlier this year it was established that a Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel was going to happen but no official title was established. We did however get a release date of December 20, 2023, with the sequel set to return to the original films’ New York City and Firehouse settings. Ernie Hudson will be back as Winston Zeddemore, with the film recently being described as “the next chapter in the Spengler family story.”

As we suspected, this would mean that McKenna Grace would return as Egon Spengler’s grand-daughter, Phoebe, for the film and she just confirmed so in an interview this week.

Grace tells ComicBook.com, “I’m constantly pressuring Jason Reitman, our director, I’m always trying to figure out what the story is. I literally have no ounce of a clue what the story is. If I knew about a Marvel film or if I knew about Ghostbusters, I’d be sitting here and I’d be like, ‘I have no clue, and it’s driving me nuts.’ I’m just excited to do a second one.

“I’m just excited to be Phoebe,” she adds.

Don’t forget, a brand new animated series and animated movie are in development as well so you can look forward to Ghostbusters being around for awhile.
