Neve Campbell Opens Up About What Convinced Her To Return For "SCREAM VII"

The continuing news saga of the upcoming Scream VII seems to have smoothed over some since the highly publicized cast departures a few months ago. Now with the original writer Kevin Williamson returning and the franchise’s first scream queen, Neve Campbell coming back, we have a little more information about what changed her mind. In speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Campbell talked about “Scream VII” as being a sort of “swan song” for Sydney which is a good chunk of the reason she agreed to return. From the ET article:

“‘We are going to follow Sidney,’ Campbell confirmed, adding that the idea is in the same vein as Jamie Lee Curtis' highly publicized return to the role of Laurie Strode in the Halloween franchise, 40 years after the original.”

“‘They did pitch the concept to me, and it’s the reason that I jumped on board,’ Campbell added, after admitting she has not received a final script just yet but is hoping to receive it this week.”

There isn’t much we can take from this concerning plot points, especially since Campbel hasn’t received a script yet, but for fans of Sydney Prescott, this will likely be the penultimate conclusion to her story. Read more from ET’s interview over on their site here!
