As Halloween night quickly approaches, Peacock’s original series “TEACUP” is just heating up; filling our cold black hearts with that warm spooky feeling. This week, episodes 105 and 106 premiered, giving us an absolute mouthful of information to ingest. Along with one of the longest episodes we’ve received this far, at just under an hour. Now with just two episodes to go after these, things are really starting to come together… or are they falling apart?

I’m A Witness To The Sickness

As we previously mentioned in last week’s recap, Arlo is inhabited by some sort of “visitor.” We now know that visitor is named “Harbinger” and he is on a mission that can ultimately help the families survive. Back at the Navarro family farm, we learn that whatever had pulled James down into the basement was actually a teenage boy named Travis, who may have some answers to what has been going on.

Ruben is out scouting the property and stumbles upon the silo. He steps inside and is absolutely entranced by what he sees. It draws him in and he can’t break his stare; he’s trapped.

We come to find out that the man in the bulletproof vest is named Olsen. After Maggie and Val left the barn in the previous episode where he was being held, Ellen stayed back. The two lock eyes and something strange happens… resulting in Ellen shooting and killing Olsen at point-blank range.

Before we keep going into more detail, I just wanted to clarify that this is a spoiler-free recap, and these instances happened in the previous week’s episodes, so no need to sweat! Once Ellen tells everyone what had happened, she claims that he “broke free” from his restraints and came at her, but something seems a little off about this whole scenario.

Back at the Navarro farm, Travis is aggressively interrogating James (remember, you can’t trust anyone) demanding he tell him what he knows and what he’s doing at the Navarro’s. Convincing him enough to the point that he can calm down and have a conversation with him, we learn some shocking discoveries. Travis knows all about the blue line, he shares a relationship with McNab and Olsen, and the most important factor: he has the answers.

James is able to free himself from the zip-ties that Travis put around his wrists and emerges from the basement to find Ruben in the silo. Ruben tells him that he can’t move and whatever the “trap” is, it’s getting closer to him. James is able to get an ax and break down panels from the outside of the wooden structure and pull Ruben out to safety.

Before he can say anything, Ruben sucker punches James (which was kind of deserving for sleeping with his wife.) Shell-shocked but coherent, James insists that they need to get back to everyone now so that he can relay the information he just learned from Travis. The two have come to the realization that this is much more than they could have ever bargained for.

You Don’t Know What It Means To Win

Tensions are high within the family dynamic of the Chenoweths and the Shanleys. Ruben, Valeria, and Nicholas go off together in search of what they think may be a way to cross the blue line in one piece. Nicholas insists that it will work, that Harbinger said so, and even McNab wanted to get his hands on it. Speaking of, he is now back at the Chenoweth farm under Maggie’s care due to an “incident” in the woods. Now that Ruben is fully aware of what happened between James and Val, he gives her the cold shoulder.

While searching the woods, the family is approached by a very aggressive-looking wolf with piercing eyes. Ironically enough, it is guarding what they are in search of. Nicholas fires off a shot at the wolf and misses, but scares it off. To their surprise, it crosses back over without a scratch on it… It looks like McNab was right. But to their demise, the answer to all their problems was gone.

Back at the farm, McNab is awoken by the chatter of Maggie, Meryl, and Arlo while in the infirmary. He immediately notices something is off with Arlo and after overhearing about “Harbinger,” he springs into action. This is when things do become a little spoiler-esque, so we won’t go into too much detail. Ultimately, this is really where “don’t trust anyone” comes into play. Now that everyone is aware of the visitor within Arlo, they have come to the realization that there may be more of them, and not all of them are good.

These most recent episodes have been the most important two thus far and definitely the most eventful. Next week, the final two episodes of “TEACUP” will premiere exclusively on Peacock, on Halloween! Make sure to tune in to see what becomes of the folks on the farm. It seems with the series, ending that we still have so many questions that have yet to be answered. We have a feeling this finale is going to be something out of this world.
