Peacock's 'TWISTED METAL' Confirmed For Second Season

The annual Video Game Awards were last night and some big news dropped during them for all you Twisted Metal fans. Peacock’s original series based on the classic game of the same name has officially been green lit for a second season. More Sweet Tooth anyone?

This news comes after Peacock announced that the series had done record viewership for an exclusive comedy series earlier this year.

Per TheWrap, showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith thanks fans for their support.

“I have to give a Sweet Tooth-sized thank you to our incredible fans — I read every comment and was so blown away by everyone’s love, support and rabid enthusiasm for a paper bag,” he said in a statement. “We are beyond thankful we get to continue the story of John Doe, Quiet and Sweet Tooth as they face off against familiar faces and new grim foes in the long-awaited Twisted Metal tournament. The mixtape is made, and I’m thrilled to get back on the road with our stellar cast and crew.”

The series sees John Doe (played by Mackie), a smart-ass milkman with no memory of his past, joining the Twisted Metal tournament as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make his wish of finding community come true…if he can survive the savage vehicular combat.

The show also stars Neve Campbell, Stephanie Beatriz, and Thomas Haden Church, with Samoa Joe as Sweet Tooth and Will Arnett as the voice of Sweet Tooth.
