Jennifer Love Hewitt Says She Would "100%" Return For A 'I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER" Sequel

We let you know earlier in the year that both Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. were in talks to come back to the slasher series that made them horror icons, ‘I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER’ and today we have some more confirmation about the possible sequel. Freddie Prinze Jr. has stated that no one from Sony Pictures had officially reached out to him as of yet but he wasn’t against the idea.

So what’s the deal? Is Sony moving forward with a sequel ala SCREAM?

Well, in a new interview with the podcast Inside of You With Michael Rosenbaum, Jennifer Love Hewitt made it clear that she’d love to reprise the role of Julie James one more time.

When Rosenbaum asked the actress if she’d make an appearance in a new I Know What You Did Last Summer movie, she excitedly exclaimed that she’d “100%” be on board.

“I loved making those movies. I’d do it. For sure,” she added.

Stay tuned for more as we learn it. And watch the full interview below.

Last we heard, Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) was on board to direct the franchise’s next movie with Sony, with Leah McKendrick on board to write the script.

Jim Gillespie directed the original I Know What You Did Last Summer back in 1997, written by Kevin Williamson (Scream) and based on Lois Duncan’s novel. The film spawned sequels in 1998 and 2006. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. only came back for that first sequel.

In fact, we have the full interview for you guys below to check out so let the record show just what Hewitt said below.
