"REPLICATOR" (2024) Brings Back DTV Horror Vibes And We're Here For It (TRAILER)
It is fascinating how tastes change as we age, and in some cases, those same tastes may even regress. As younger horror fans, we often perceive “quality” different than we do as we age, and of course the subjectivity of personal preference isn’t easy to account for either. Those of us old enough to remember the DTV (Direct-to-video) movies that adorned the shelves of your local rental store will also remember that these films vary wildly in quality, but are almost always high in entertainment value. As younger horror fans, some of us scoffed while others embraced this form of production, but as we age our opinions on these films may change and we see them for what they are; silly fun and frills.
The folks over at Cranked Up Films know what we’re talking about as they leaned heavily into those DTV vibes for their latest production, “Replicator.” This homage to the ooey and gooey genre films like “Slither” and “The Thing” now has a trailer out and gives us a good look at what kind of grotesqueness will be in store. “Replicator” will be released in select theaters and VOD on December 10, 2024, and you can check out the trailer below!
