Ryan Coogler Developing Diverse Reboot Of "THE X-FILES"

Five years have passed since The X-Files wrapped up seasons ten and eleven but we haven’t heard much in regards to anything else happening with the franchise until yesterday.

In a new chat with On the Coast With Gloria Macarenko, X-Files creator, Chris Carter teases what sounds like an entirely different upcoming project… from Ryan Coogler (Creed, Black Panther)?!

Carter teases during the conversation that was just uploaded this week, “I just spoke to a young man… Ryan Coogler… who is going to remount The X-Files with a diverse cast. So he’s got his work cut out for him, because we covered so much territory.”

This is the first we have heard about this and in all honesty it has us pretty stoked.

Ryan Coogler has twice been nominated for Academy Awards, launching his career with the feature film Fruitvale Station in 2013. He later directed Creed, and both Black Panther films.
