Sam Raimi Producing Supernatural Romantic Comedy 'YOU'RE DEAD HELEN!'

Sam Raimi may have taken a step back from the directors chair as of late in regards to Horror but his Ghost House production company is steadily making his name cemented in the annals of Horror Producers. With films like ‘Don’t Breath’ and ‘Crawl’ under the Ghost House brand, it’s no shock that Raimi would be producing another horror flick.

This one is entitled “You’re Dead Helen’ and we can already tell by the description it’s gonna be right up our alley. A supernatural horror comedy? Count us in!

You’re Dead Helene, is based on Michiel Blanchart’s award-winning short film (pictured), which he wrote and directed, says Deadline.

TriStar Pictures has acquired the rights to the supernatural romantic comedy, which is being produced by Raimi and Rob Tapert at Ghost House and Michaël Goldberg and Boris Van Gils at Playbox Pictures. Caellum Allan will oversee the project for TriStar Pictures. Romel Adam will oversee for Ghost House.

“The film is touching and terrifying. Michiel is one of the few modern directors that can balance humor and terror, and he does it in an exciting new way,” said Raimi.

“Currently in consideration for the 2022 Academy Awards Shortlist, the live action short film is produced by Daylight Films and Formosa Productions, is supported by Canal+, FWB and Region Grand Est, and has played at numerous prestigious film festivals around the world including Rhode Island International Film Festival (won Oscar qualifying Grand Prize), Clermont Ferrand, Sitges (won Best Short Film), Austin Fantastic Fest (won the Short Fuse Award), and the Gerardmer Film Festival (won the Grand Prize).”
