With the upcoming release of the fifth installment to the SCREAM franchise taking over theaters this week (January 14th) fans have been nostalgia happy for anything SCREAM and news has come our way that an awesome 4 LP set is on the way and ready for pre-order TODAY.

The chilling scores from Marco Beltrami are coming to life finally on Vinyl. Each soundtrack created the perfect amount of dread and fear needed in a film of this caliber.

To celebrate Beltrami's work on those first four films, Varèse Sarabande is releasing a new Scream boxed set compiling the scores to those installments on vinyl, which includes a number of previously unreleased tracks. This new set is available for pre-order starting today and will hit shelves on June 10th.

Per press release,

"In 1996, Scream ushered in a new generation of slasher flicks-mixing self-awareness and satire with chills, gore, and plenty of plot twists. Written by Kevin Williamson (Dawson's Creek, The Vampire Diaries) and directed by horror pioneer Wes Craven (A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Hills Have Eyes, Swamp Thing), Scream flipped the genre on its side.

As Jim Lochner writes, 'Williamson populated the film with characters who knew about other horror films, spent much of their time referencing other horror films, and even recognized they were living inside of a horror film.'"

"Beltrami, who recalls that Craven was 'very patient with me,' recorded the Scream score on a limited budget. This led to plenty of ingenuity in the studio -- working with smaller combinations of musicians, in lieu of a full orchestra, and bolstering recordings with synthesizers and stock library samples. Among the most memorable compositions from this film were two musical themes that Beltrami revisited throughout his work with the franchise. They include Sidney's theme ('Sidney Wants It') and, as Lochner notes, a 'Spaghetti Western sound that...ultimately evolved into a more prominent guitar theme ['Dewey's Theme'] for Dewey (Arquette) in the sequels.'"
