Shout! Studios Are Saddling Up The "GUNS OF REDEMPTION" (2025) This March! (TRAILER)
Thanks to the success of shows like “Yellowstone” and the various spin-offs it has birthed, the Western is seeing a semi-comeback. Genre fans, whether they like to admit it or not, owe a lot to the genre even if the connection isn’t a direct one. See, the violence in Westerns became a bridge to eliminate archaic policies like the Hay’s Code and other forms of early censorship in the US. American filmmakers like John Huston and later Sam Peckinpah brought their own brand of bloody combat to the screen, which gave birth to the Spaghetti Western genre of films out of Italy that doubled-down on the violence and mood, eschewing things like big, grandiose plots. Shout! Studios is of the same mind that the Western isn’t dead, but rather ripe for revival in their upcoming Western-Revenge film, “Guns of Redemption.”
Starring Genre familiars Casper Van Dien (“Starship Troopers”), Jeff Fahey (“Planet Terror”), and Sean Astin (“The Lord of the Rings”) and releasing in-theaters and on-demand on March 7, 2025, check out the latest trailer to see what’s in store. We hope to bring you a review of the film and interviews with the cast and crew coming later this month, so saddle up your horses and stock your ammunition!
