Shudder Releases First Trailer For The Ultimate "Child's Play" Franchise Documentary "DOC OF CHUCKY"
He’s the most well-known killer doll in the world and now Shudder has tapped some heavy hitters to bring you a proper documentary about the “Child’s Play” franchise and of course, Chucky himself in, “DOC OF CHUCKY” and we have your first look at it below.
“Doc Of Chucky” was directed by Thommy Hutson (Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy, Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th) and the film will hit Shudder on November 1st, 2025.
“A star was born, and it was Chucky!” The trailer starts out with this declarative statement and we have to agree. Chucky and the “Child’s Play” franchise has scared kids and adults for years and with this new documentary, Shudder hopes to show how important and groundbreaking these films are.
Synopsis
The ultimate account of the Child’s Play film franchise and Chucky, a horror villain for the ages. With contributions from cast, crew, critics, historians, and experts, as well as clips, photographs, archival documents, behind-the-scenes footage, and more, experience the making-of story that proves you can’t keep a good guy down in a series of films that have created an icon.

On top of the trailer, we have some stills from the flick, as well as the poster, that gives you a good look at the stars involved. Shudder got everyone for this one and it’s going to be some must-see TV in November when it hits the streamer. We’ll be watching for sure and we hope the documentary dives into how the show “Chucky” came to be as well as the remake that came out a few years ago that was panned by fans and critics a like. Either way, we’ll be learning a lot about our favorite pal, Chucky.
