So many films as of late are taking the 4K HD route upon release to home video. The folks at Universal have seen fit to add The Universal Monsters to this list! A brand new 4 disc set is on the way this October entitled “Icons Of Horror” and we have all the details for ya as usual.

The set is scheduled for an October 5th 2021 release.

The set spans the years 1931-1941, including DraculaFrankenstein, The Invisible Man, and The Wolf Man.

Other classic Universal Monsters movies such as The MummyBride of Frankenstein, and Creature from the Black Lagoon are not included, but perhaps they’ll be part of a second set. This would be perfect for a dual set in our opinion. Ya get the earlier films first then the later sequels and so on until the entire Universal Monster universe is on 4K HD. Make it happen Universal!

Bonus Features packed into the set include The Road to Dracula, The Frankenstein Files: How Hollywood Made a Monster, Karloff: The Gentle Monster, Monster by Moonlight, The Wolf Man: From Ancient Curse to Modern Myth, and Now You See Him: The Invisible Man Revealed.

As for whether or not the individual films will also be physically released in 4K Ultra HD on their own, we haven’t heard anything confirming that as of yet. Stay tuned for more!
