"TRAIN TO BUSAN" Director YEON SANG-HO Working On Action/Horror Flick At Tristar

Korean horror movies are truly something special. The methodical pacing or longer runtimes may turn some off, but it is undeniable that Korean horror films don’t skimp on the gore or shy away from the darker sides of the genre. The diversity in output is impressive, and one of the most well-known is Yeon Sang-Ho’s Train to Busan. Released in 2016 and breaking all kinds of records, Busan was a huge hit with genre fans and even naysayers. Deadline is reporting that Sang-Ho is working with Tristar’s 35th St and Appian Way on a new “horror/action” movie! From the article:

“The pic will be produced by Appian Way and WOW POINT. The project is in development and marks the director’s first English-language project. While plot details are being kept under wraps, it’s being described as an action/horror film.

One of Korea’s most prolific multi-platform storytellers, Yeon rose to global prominence in 2016 after releasing his first live-action $8 million zombie thriller Train To Busan which grossed over $98 million worldwide. The film put him on the map, becoming a classic rewatch and led to a sequel in 2020.”

We will share more updates as they become available!
