With "CLOWN IN A CORNFIELD" (2025) Shudder Makes A Frendo Out Of Us All (TRAILER)
If you haven’t heard of Adam Cesare’s “Clown in a Cornfield” book series, we have to ask where you’ve been these last few years. After a breakout first book that has led to a full-on trilogy, it was just a matter of time before the book was adapted for the screen and we had even reported as such all the way back in 2022! Now, horror fans are finally getting their first look at the Shudder adaptation and it looks just as unhinged and frendo-filled as the book is!
Directed by Eli Craig, who folks may recall from “Tucker and Dale vs. Evil” is adapting Cesare’s words alongside writing partner Carter Blanchard and the red-band trailer below promises all kinds of clown-filled mayhem. We actually found ourselves stopping the trailer halfway because we were already sold on the look and style of the film, but other viewers may have to indulge in the whole thing less you want to keep somethings special for when the film hits theaters on May 9, 2025!
Synopsis
Quinn and her father have just moved to the quiet town of Kettle Springs hoping for a fresh start. Instead, she discovers a fractured community that has fallen on hard times after the treasured Baypen Corn Syrup Factory burned down. As the locals bicker amongst themselves and tensions boil over, a sinister, grinning figure emerges from the cornfields to cleanse the town of its burdens, one bloody victim at a time. Welcome to Kettle Springs. The real fun starts when Frendo the clown comes out to play.
