HBO's "THE LAST OF US" Season 2 Gets An Official Premier Date In April

HBO’s hit series “The Last of Us” has unveiled three new character posters, and we’ve got the official premiere date for Season 2 below.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting any news regarding the HBO hit series “The Last of Us,” and yesterday, HBO released a few new bits of news that will make all fans rejoice. Three new character posters were released highlighting Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, and new for this season, Kaitlyn Dever as Abbey with the ominous warning on all three “Every Path Has A Price”. The seven-episode second season of HBO’s Emmy®-winning original drama series debuts SUNDAY, APRIL 13 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will be available to stream on Max.

From The Press Release:

Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”

“THE LAST OF US”, based on the acclaimed video game franchise developed by Naughty Dog for the PlayStation® consoles, is written and executive produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. The series is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television and is also executive produced by Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Evan Wells; with writer/co-executive producer Halley Gross.

We still know very little about how HBO will adapt the second game for this season. Season 1 of “The Last Of Us” was largely adapted from the first game of the franchise and thus the second season will be based around the same premise, adapting “The Last Of Us” Part 2 to TV. The second game is massive and we highly doubt HBO will be able to cram everything that happens in it into one season. This second season is going to pull in major viewers for HBO and HBO Max. The season finale for the first season pulled in over 8.2 million viewers so the fan base for the series is rabid to say the least.

Season two’s returning cast includes Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Maria. Previously announced new cast includes Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac. Catherine O’Hara also guest stars.

We’ll bring you more on “THE LAST OF US” as we get it.
