In July 2024, it was announced that Sam Raimi would return to the genre that launched his career with a new film titled “Send Help”. Today, we’ve learned that Dylan O’Brien (“Love And Monsters”) has joined the cast of the horror thriller, along with some additional details about the project.

In a report from Deadline this afternoon, it has been revealed that actor Dylan O’Brien will be joining already announced co-star, Rachel McAdams for this new film from Director and producer, Sam Raimi. The site also gives details on what the story will be about revealing:

“The film is a survival horror thriller about two colleagues who become stranded on a deserted island, the only survivors of a plane crash. On the island, they must overcome past grievances and work together to survive, but ultimately, it’s a battle of wills and wits to make it out alive.”

The report also speculates that with Raimi’s pedigree, “Send Help” will most likely get a theatrical run. There are no further details as of this writing about the film but with the cast rounding out and production starting to gear up, we hope to hear and see some more news regarding “Send Help” soon. Any time Sam Raimi is involved with a horror film fans pay attention, no matter who is starring. Raimi’s last directorial effort in the genre was 2009’s “Drag Me to Hell”, a fan favorite celebrated for its slapstick humor and sharp wit. Will “Send Help” follow the tried-and-true “Evil Dead” formula with Raimi’s signature fast-paced camera work and dynamic tracking shots, or will it take a more subdued approach?

Either way, we can’t wait to see what’s in store. Stay tuned for more news about “SEND HELP” as we get it.
