'GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE' Trailer Is Giving Us The Nostalgia We Want

In less than two months ‘GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE’ will be hitting theaters and today Sony released a brand new trailer for the film and we have mad nostalgia feels going on here after seeing it.

March 22nd 2024 is the big day for all Ghostbusters fans and below we have that trailer we teased for you.

Director Gil Kenan (Monster House) noted in recent comments that Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is partially inspired by the 1980s animated series “The Real Ghostbusters,” so we can expect to see fresh mythology and a wacky array of new ghosts in this year’s brand new sequel. We can also expect to see Slimer, a staple of the classic animated series!

This latest official trailer doubles down on the nostalgic fun, celebrating 40 years of the original classic with what looks to be something more closely resembling an official Ghostbusters 3 than we’ve ever seen to date. We’re back in New York City for more ghost-busting fun, with classic legacy characters battling brand new spectral threats we’ve never seen before.

And yes, you will be shushed in the Library as the infamous “Grey Lady” aka “The Library Ghost” is back!

In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level.

But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.

The cast includes Patton Oswalt, Kumail Nanjiani, James Acaster, and Emily Alyn Lind, alongside Bill Murray, Finn Wolfhard, Ernie Hudson, Mckenna Grace, Paul Rudd, Celeste O’Connor, Logan Kim, Annie Potts, Dan Aykroyd and Carrie Coon.

Jason Reitman, who directed Ghostbusters: Afterlife, is back to produce Frozen Empire.
