Karl Urban Says 'MORTAL KOMBAT 2' Is “The Most Action Packed Fun I’ve Ever Had” As Production Wraps Up

Fans have been anxiously waiting for anything Mortal Kombat 2 related and now it looks like Johnny Cage himself, Karl Urban has taken to Instagram to reveal production has wrapped on Simon McQuoid‘s upcoming Mortal Kombat 2.

Urban even went so far as to say it’s “the most action packed fun I’ve ever had” on a film.

Producer Todd Garner revealed a few images awhile ago from the set of the film that had fans in an uproar begging for a trailer or something for MK2 to tide them over.

“I know I’m gonna start getting a lot of messages about like, ‘When is the trailer? When is the trailer?’ It’s gonna be a while,” says Garner. “We’re gonna work hard, we’re gonna get it done. I think we made something special, and I hope you agree.”

Directed by Simon McQuoid (who also directed the first film), Karl Urban joins returning kombatants Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han/Sub-Zero, Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi/Scorpion, and Max Huang as Kung Lao.

New characters for Mortal Kombat 2 include Martyn Ford as Shao Kahn, Ana Thu Nguyen as Queen Sindel, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, Desmond Chiam as King Jerrod, Damon Herriman as Quan Chi, and C.J. Bloomfield as Baraka.
