“HELL HOUSE LLC: LINEAGE” (2025) Heads To The Big Screen To Deliver Big Scares

The “Hell House LLC” franchise has genuinely cemented itself as one of the best found-footage series since greats like “The Blair Witch Project” and “Paranormal Activity”, proving that this shaky cam horror sub-genre still has fresh horrors to unleash and is a force to be reckoned with. What sets it apart from most found-footage horror films out there is its masterful blend of slow-burning dread and in-your-face terror. The story is wrapped in a deceptively simple yet deeply unsettling narrative that evolves with each installment. Fans of the franchise will tell you that within the first few moments that the horror starts happening, and you’re forever hooked by the ghosts that haunt the main characters in each installment. These films don’t just rely on shaky cameras and jump scares. Stephen Cognetti has masterfully crafted an intricate, eerie mythology around the Abaddon Hotel with his truly brilliant writing and filmmaking style. The entire franchise is wrapped around places where every shadow hides a sinister presence (sometimes usually a cloaked figure or disturbing clown), and every revelation tightens the grip of fear. By balancing documentary-style realism with some of the most terrifying set pieces in modern horror, “Hell House LLC” isn’t just a great found-footage franchise; it’s a timeless nightmare that keeps finding new ways to crawl under your skin.
The found-footage fanatics/loyal fans of the Hell House LLC franchise here at Macabre Daily are excited about the final chapter of the series and intrigued by the unique approach the newest movie is taking. From The Press Release
Terror Films Releasing has teamed with Iconic Events to bring “Hell House LLC: Lineage” to theaters this summer before premiering exclusively on Shudder in late October.
“We’re committed to supporting fresh, bold voices in horror. Stephen Cognetti and ‘Hell House LLC: Lineage’ are a perfect example of the kind of stories that excite us. We’re eager for fans to experience it,” says Mark Rupp, CFO/COO and co-founder of Iconic Events Releasing.
This installment sees the return of several characters from “Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor” including the Carmichael siblings, Patrick, Catherine and Margaret. Also returning are Margot and Rebecca, who met their demise in the Carmichael Manor, and Alice Harper, the documentarian and journalist played by Searra Sawka. Returning in the leading role as Elizabeth Vermilyea as Vanessa Shephard, the documentarian who died but was resurrected in “Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire”.

Written and directed by Stephen Cognetti, the fifth, and potentially final, film of the popular “Hell House LLC” franchise takes a deep dive into the murders that have been occurring in the town of Abaddon for decades, according to the official synopsis below:
“Haunted by visions and recurring nightmares years after a near-death experience, Vanessa Shepard finds herself living in the town of Abaddon, unable to break free from its unexplainable hold on her. When people around her suddenly and inexplicably begin to die, she soon uncovers her terrifying connection to the Abaddon Hotel, the Carmichael Manor and the mysterious murders that have been occurring for decades, long before Hell House LLC.”
Cognetti opted to shoot the latest installment as a narrative film, shocking many fans of the found-footage franchise. He had this to say about the new film,
“This is by far the biggest Hell House of the series, so experiencing it in a theater is definitely the best way to consume the final chapter. For the story, scope and scares I wanted to write in Lineage, found footage was going to be too restrictive to make the film that I wanted to make. I set out to make a Hell House movie like you've never seen, and I promise you won’t be disappointed in the change of format.”

“What many fans don’t know, is that we attempted a theatrical release with the original ‘Hell House LLC’, but we could not secure partners back then due to it being an unproven IP. We had a smaller, theatrical release set for Origins until we lost our window due to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. This is truly a film for the fans, and we’re excited to finally bring this franchise to the big screen. It’s better late than never and we’re thrilled to support this release”, stated TFR CEO, Joe Dain.
“Hell House LLC: Lineage” was produced by Joe Bandelli, with TFR CEO, Joe Dain and COO, Jim Klock Executive Producing. The film is set to hit theaters sometime in August. Terror Films Releasing and Iconic will be announcing the exact date in the coming weeks, along with a ticket link.
Iconic Events will be presenting the film to Exhibitors at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The convention has grown to become the largest and most important gathering for the worldwide motion picture theater industry, attracting attendees from more than 80 countries.
