ICYMI: Kaitlyn Dever Will Be Playing Abby In Season 2 Of 'THE LAST OF US'

HBO’s ‘THE LAST OF US’ exceeded expectations by leaps and bounds. The show truly made a splash with its casting. Bella Ramsey turned out to be the perfect Ellie even though fans were very skeptical at the shows onset, and the outside-the-box casting continues for Season 2. Kaitlyn Dever (No One Will Save You) will play Abby in Season 2!

Entertainment Weekly broke the news this afternoon, and they also shared a statement from “The Last of Us” creator Craig Mazin. “Our casting process for Season 2 has been identical to Season 1: we look for world-class actors who embody the souls of the characters in the source material,” Mazin tells Entertainment Weekly. “Nothing matters more than talent, and we’re thrilled to have an acclaimed performer like Kaitlyn join Pedro, Bella, and the rest of our family.”

The second season of HBO’s “The Last of Us” will adapt video game sequel The Last of Us Part II, but don’t expect the game’s events to be contained to just one season. It’s likely that the sequel’s sprawling, multi-character story will span the timeline of at least two seasons.

How closely will the show’s interpretation of Abby stick to the shocking events of The Last of Us Part II? We’ll likely have to wait until sometime in 2025 to find out. Stay tuned.
