Joaquin Phoenix Gives Slight Update To JOKER Sequel Rumors!

Rumors are like belly buttons in Hollywood, everybody has one but very few pay attention to them.

Even after semi-confirmation from various trades earlier in the year, a Joker sequel is still up in the air for director Todd Phillips and Warner bros.

Star of the film, Joaquin Phoenix, was recently interviewed for another project by The Playlist but when asked directly about the sequel rumors, had the following to say.

“I mean, I dunno. From when we were shooting, we started to - you know, uhh, this is an interesting guy. There are some things we could do with this guy and could [explore] further. But as to whether we actually will? I don’t know.”

Is Phoenix just playing devil’s advocate and the sequel is in the works for sure? Or is this all just one big joke at our expense? Hopefully news comes through to confirm what everybody hopes for, another Joker movie.

Joker made over $1 Billion (Said in DR. EVIL Voice) for Warner Bros. and with both Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix showing definite interest in the project, here’s hoping.
