'KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES' Locks In A 2024 Release Date
Back in 2011, Rupert Wyatt and Matt Reeves created a new Planet Of The Apes trilogy with Rise of the Planet of the Apes and concluded with 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes. As of today, 20th Century Studios is working on an all new chapter in the Apes franchise with the newly announced ‘KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES’ and the release date for the film has been revealed.
The new movie starts production next month and stars Owen Teague, Freya Allen, and Peter Macon, with Wes Ball (director of all three Maze Runner films) on board to direct.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will release in theaters May 24, 2024.
Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver and Patrick Aison wrote the script.
“Planet of the Apes is one of the most iconic and storied science fiction franchises in film history, as well as being an indelible part of our studio’s legacy. With Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes we are privileged to continue the series’ tradition of imaginative, thought-provoking cinema, and can’t wait to share Wes’ extraordinary vision for this new chapter with audiences in 2024,” said Steve Asbell, President of 20th Century Studios.
