Patrick Dempsey in Talks to Star in Eli Roth's 'THANKSGIVING'

Last month the world found out that Eli Roth was finally going to deliver us a new film and it would be a throwback to his much loved trailer that was included in Grindhouse back in 2007. That’s right ‘THANKSGIVING’ is finally happening and we’re all grateful. News has just hit our desks saying that the first bit of casting news is pretty major as
Deadline updates on the project today, reporting that Patrick Dempsey is now in talks to star in the feature length adaptation of the once-fake throwback slasher movie.

Shooting will begin in March with a script by Jeff Rendell, with Spyglass behind the film.

Deadline reminds, “The Thanksgiving trailer presented the gory teaser about a pseudo movie in which a slasher makes his own carving board out of the inhabitants of a Massachusetts town that makes a big annual fuss over the annual turkey day. One of the pivotal scenes involved Roth himself, separated from his head while in the throes of passion with a date in a convertible. It was popular enough that plans formulated to make a feature-length blood feast with Roth at the helm, but 15 years has passed since the original Grindhouse release and you could be forgiven for thinking that Thanksgiving was never coming.”
