TERROR JOINS THE TOUR IN THE NEW HORORR GRAPHIC NOVEL, “SPINAL CORD”

A heavy metal road trip from hell!

FROM THE PRESS RELEASE:

Dark Horse Books is about to rock your world with the new graphic novel, Spinal Cord, a love letter to heavy metal and bone-chilling horror. Written by David Braña (Lady Enigma, Cry West) and illustrated by Pahito, this coming-of-age narrative arrives in the Fall 2024. The members of the heavy metal band Spinal Cord dream of making it big in the music world. When they are selected to participate in a prestigious touring competition sponsored by the famous metal label Pain Records, they jump at the chance to prove themselves. What they don’t know is that the horrors haunting their journey are very, very real, and the contest will challenge more than just their musical talent. In fact, it will alter their very perception of reality…

Spinal Cord is perfect for fans of The Roadie, Festival, and Cold Iron. Spinal Cord Volume 1 (200 pages, 6.625 x 10.1875) arrives in bookstores on September 10, 2024, and in comic shops on September 11, 2024. It is now available to preorder at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and your local comic shop and indie bookstore for $24.99.

Now we have a special treat, check out a few pages from SPINAL CORD Volume 1, exclusively here at MacabreDaily. Who loves ya, baby?

Another aspect of Spinal Cord Volume 1 we really enjoyed was that the creators have curated a list of metal songs that they used as inspiration for the new book.

“Painkiller” by Judas Priest - The album cover was the inspiration for Paindriver.

“Gardenia” by Kyuss - A lot of adventures on the road.

“My church is black” by Me And That Man - I definitely put this song on when I drew the Red Heaven chapter.

“Paranoid” by Black Sabbath - The last chapter of the book.

Robo un auto” by Hermética - Is the most important song for me. A story of rebellion and escape on the road. From the Argentine band that got me into Heavy Metal when I was very young.

Now crank up the metal, get yourself a copy of “SPINAL CORD VOLUME 1”, and throw up them horns!!!
