THE ROAD TO: VOL 1 launches on KICKSTARTER to tell a different tale of the yellow brick road

Those of you old enough to require prostate exams likely grew up with the Wizard of Oz. From Judy Garland’s captivating voice to the rumors of unruly extras and even an urban legend about suicide on the set, there is a lot to unpack with this whimsical trip to Oz. Good thing that we have amazing creators like Amin Amat out there who are giving us new stories about the land only two heel clicks away, and a decidedly darker version of the Oz we know.

The project, The Road To: Volume 1 has just launched on Kickstarter and has already been deemed a “Project We Love”. If you are interested in joining the crowdfunding, there are heaps of options with a slew of great perks. We can’t wait to see what this shapes up to be and look forward to covering it on the site. The Road To is an original story, taking the characters and the Oz we know, to new places, dangers, and more!

Originally set up as a 4-issue miniseries, instead opted to showcase the 110-page story as a graphic novel. So you can enjoy the world, story, and characters in one continuous flow.

A plan is devised, from knowledge left behind by the wizard, to eliminate Dorothy in Kansas. Can the Scarecrow, the new mayor of Emerald City, be able to save his friend and Oz!!

Amin Amat is a comic book illustrator and web developer. Known for his pencil and ink work on books such as CodeWord: Geronimo, Kolchak The Night Stalker, Buckaroo Banzai Origins, Iron Sky, and Bayeux. He had provided illustrations for many notable publishers such as IDW, Moonstone Books, Tapestry Comics, Xbox 360, Disney, and Zenescope Entertainment, amongst many others.
