"THE VISITOR" (2024) Promises A Lurid, Lustful, And Explicit Reinvention Of Pasolini (TRAILER)

When most horror fans hear the name Pier Paolo Pasolini, the first movie they are likely to think of is his infamous, “Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom.” One of the challenging and difficult films to sit through as it paints a picture of the real-life horrors of fascism, and the bourgeois, and draws directly from the novel of the same name by the Marquis de Sade. Pasolini’s legacy as a transgressive poet and filmmaker may be attributed to his work on “Salò,” but it wasn’t the only film that touched on these themes, and his earlier works like “Theorem” are the basis for the upcoming film, “The Visitor” from artist and filmmaker Bruce LaBruce.

“The Visitor” is a loose reinvention of Pasolini’s film and focuses on the question of what would happen if God tried to seduce a wealthy, bourgeois family and the havoc that it may cause some or all of them. “The Visitor” promises not just a modern reimagining of the 1968 film, but takes a decidedly more queer approach to the material fitting of our more progressive and inclusive culture. Check out the edited trailer below, and you can view the X-Rated trailer over on X. The film begins touring select cities on Friday and throughout the month of March leading to a Blu-Ray release on April 4, 2025!

Discover Bruce LaBruce’s reimagining of Pasolini’s Teorema!

London, today. A refugee washes up naked in a suitcase on the bank of the Thames. The enigmatic, sexually fluid stranger introduces himself to a bourgeois, upper-class family. He is invited to stay on as an employee. The Visitor soon seduces each member of the family in a series of explicit sexual encounters. He will turn their world upside down as they are able to redefine themselves in new, radical ways.

"This is Pasolini via early John Waters. An explicit smorgasbord of unsimulated sex acts in a gleefully queer film, in which a stranger seduces every member of a wealthy family."

Catherine Bray, VARIETY

"Provocateur Bruce LaBruce is back with a brilliantly depraved family affair. Each unsimulated sex scene is more graphic and sacrilegious than the last, yet a divine ecstasy punctuates every thrust and moan."

David Opie, INDIEWIRE

"A Love Letter to Pasolini, Penned With Blood, Sweat, and Semen. LaBruce's work doesn’t permit complacency even when you find yourself aroused, entertained, or both at once. After indulging in the sensual and intellectual pleasures of a film like The Visitor, who would even dare want the old order back?"
