Terror Films Enters “JIM’S ROOM” (2022) This April! (TRAILER)
Handheld cameras and horror have become a common thing with horror in the last few decades. With the steady stream of found footage horror films continuing to hit screens, some argue that the market has become oversaturated. Many people may not think this, but is it possible that this sub-genre is strengthening the horror landscape rather than weakening it? Found footage thrives on raw, immersive storytelling. It does so simply by pulling audiences into terrifying, unpredictable experiences that traditional filmmaking often cannot replicate. Rather than diluting the horror genre, its continuous evolution has given horror fans a wider variety of scares. With slow-burn psychological dread to chaotic, adrenaline-fueled terror, it grabs our attention in ways some of the Oscar bait movies wish they could. The question you will have to ask yourself is if found footage is not over-saturating horror, but could it instead be expanding its possibilities for every kind of fan?
The found footage fanatics here at Macabre Daily are shaking with anticipation for the news of another found footage horror movie coming out for us to get chills over.
From The Press Release
Terror Films Releasing has teamed with director Zac King to release his found footage horror film, “Jim’s Room”.
Starring Zac King and the film’s writer, Michael Masurkevitch, the film follows Jim, a homeless man who must face his demons to escape the perverted sadist who films him in a remote house under the pretense of offering him a job.
King shared his thoughts about the making of the film in a recent press release from Terror Films Releasing:
“I’ve always had so much love for the found footage genre, with films like 2014’s Creep and the OG ‘Paranormal Activity’ being huge influences in how we went about shooting everything. We wanted to tell a fictional story with Jim’s Room, but this is a very real issue.
Jim may not be real, but there are people on the streets and there are others who want to take advantage of them.
This film is dedicated to Michael (Masurkevitch)’s personal friend Jason. He suffered from homelessness for years and passed away shortly before we shot this.”
Terror Films Releasing will premiere the film across multiple platforms on April 4th, 2025, including Tubi TV, Chilling, Scare Network TV, Kings of Horror, Watch Movies Now and many more.
