Welcome Villain Films

Welcome Villain Films is at it again with the news that their upcoming love letter to Black Metal and Horror, “INVOKING YELL” is being released and we have your first look at it below.

Directed by Patricio Valladares and starring María Jesús Marcone, Macarena Carrere, and, Andre Ozuljevich.“Invoking Yell” is set for a digital release across multiple platforms on September 20th.

In this day and age, there are tons of sub-genres of metal out there. There’s your classic Heavy Metal like Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. Death Metal like Morbid Angel and Cannibal Corpse, the list goes on, but the darkest, bleakest form of metal has one key ingredient that sets it above (or below) the others. Satan. Yep the “Most Unclean” himself is usually the focal point and subject for Black Metal. Black Metal is brutal, guttural, and sometimes downright scary. Welcome Villain Films is banking on this with “INVOKING YELL” and from what we were sent today, we agree with them.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:

Set in 1997 south of Chile, INVOKING YELL is a love letter to black metal that follows a trio of metal-head twenty-something girls who venture into the woods to shoot the demo tape for their black metal band, Invoking Yell. However, things take a sinister turn as they document their disturbing and unorthodox process of recording paranormal phenomena to be used in the album’s final track.

Massacre Video will be handling the physical release of the film with a limited-edition Blu-ray packed full of special features. More will be announced later on www.massacrevideo.com

Watch The Official Trailer For “Invoking Yell” below and check out the official poster above, did we mention we have a few stills as well? See, we love ya horror fiends.

We don’t know about you but mixing Black Metal and horror is like peanut butter and jelly. They go together so well and with the track record that Welcome Villain Films is creating for itself with films like “Malum” and “Hunt Her Kill Her”, they are cementing themselves as the most brutal genre studio out there and we’re here for all of it!

As a little tease, here are some stills from “Invoking Yell”, they don’t really give much away but we prefer that with films, the less film we see, the more we can walk in and experience it, and believe us, this flick is going to be worth it.

We’ll be sure to tell you more about “INVOKING YELL” but for now, listen to some brutal “Black Metal” and throw up them horns!
