Bruce Campbell Teases An "ASH VS EVIL DEAD" Animated Series Is In Early Development!
It’s been four long years since Ash Vs. Evil Dead was cancelled and in all honesty, we miss that damn show. Never fear though, as the “chin” himself, Bruce Campbell has recently given fans a little something to hope for.
Campbell has made it clear over the years that he’s retired from playing Ash Williams again in live action, but that doesn’t mean he’s never going to be *voicing* the character again. He most recently did portrayed the character for EVIL DEAD: THE GAME.
Chatting with Campbell during San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, Collider asked the horror icon if there have been any talks of continuing the series. Here’s what he had to say….
“Yeah… as an animated series. You pick up right where the show left off. You can do the future a lot easier in animation. I still sound like Ash, and you know, my voice hasn’t been as beat up as my body has been so I can still do that crap. So I’ll still do the video game. And we’re already talking about an animated [series].”
Up next from the Evil Dead franchise is brand new feature film Evil Dead Rise, which will take the franchise beyond the cabin in the woods and beyond the Ash Williams character.
Evil Dead Rise is set to debut on HBO Max sometime later this year.
