Demián Bichir Joins The Cast Of "THE BLACK PHONE 2"

News has come our way that Blumhouse and Universal’s "THE BLACK PHONE 2" has added Demián Bichir (The Nun, The Hateful Eight) to the cast and we have a few more details for you below.

For now, who Bichir is playing and plot details are being kept tight today, but Deadline has the exclusive info on the casting. We do know that many of the original cast for The Black Phone will be returning such as Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies, and Miguel Mora are all set to return. Deadline has also confirmed a release date of October 17, 2025, with writer Joe Hill returning to Executive Produce.

Demián Bichir is no newbie to the world of horror or the supernatural as he took on Valak aka “The Nun” in The Conjuring universe and came out…semi-okay in the end so why would a child abductor be a big deal? We hope for a film that pulls us in like the original did.

The Black Phone was an amazing film and pulled in some major numbers for Blumhouse and Universal Pictures so it makes sense that a sequel would be in the works. The film grossed an amazing $161 million at the global box office. With those numbers, you’d have to bet that this next installment will be even better.

More details as we get them. Stay tuned!
