Winona Ryder, Dan Levy and More Join Disney's 'HAUNTED MANSION' Cast

Today during Disney’s D23 expo, fans were gifted with the first (brief) footage of the upcoming live action film based on ‘THE HAUNTED MANSION’. The footage was short and detailed a few things about the film by new cast member Danny DeVito who seems to be playing a crotchety old historian.

Devito talks over footage of the mansion and he dives into the history of it but nothing truly is revealed.

Additionally it was announced that Winona Ryder and Dan Levy will be joining the film as well. Ryder, and Levy’s roles have not been announced as of yet.

In the new film, a doctor (Rosario Dawson) and her 9-year-old son (Chase Dillon), looking to start a new life, move into a strangely affordable mansion in New Orleans, only to discover that the place is much more than they bargained for. Desperate for help, they contact a priest (Owen Wilson), who, in turn, enlists the aid of a widowed scientist-turned failed-paranormal expert (LaKeith Stanfield), a French Quarter psychic (Tiffany Haddish), and an historian (Danny DeVito).

The film is slated for a March 2023 release but that is still very much a hopeful release date and not 100% confirmed by Disney.
