Everything You Need to Know About "Terrify Your Tablet Day" 2023

It is FINALLY happening! The highly anticipated “Stuff Your Kindle Day” is taking a turn for the terrifying! If you are unfamiliar with “Stuff Your Kindle Day,” it is a highly anticipated event that takes place only four times a year. For 24 hours, you have access to thousands of free books that you can access from your Kindle e-reader, the Kindle app, or the Kindle website. In the past, this event has predominantly been hosted by romance publishing companies. HOWEVER, on October 31st, 2023, you will have the chance to download thousands of horror and thriller books for FREE!

Get ready for the first annual “Terrify Your Tablet Day”. Previously referred to as “Spook Your Kindle Day,” this event is hosted by Horrorsmith Publishing. Unlike “Stuff Your Kindle Day,” “Terrify Your Tablet Day” will include a variety of devices that have the ability to access eBooks. Including your cell phone! This event is functioning as a fundraiser to help provide much needed funds to Horror Author Sammy Scott who has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 bile duct cancer. 

“Within our horror community, we have found a group of people whose kindness and generosity knows no limits. And every now and then, we're called to help one of our own... As you can imagine, Sammy's medical bills are mounting now that he's started chemo. The Books of Horror Facebook group recently ran an auction to help Sammy's family, but there's still so much further to go.”

In light of the magic of Halloween for horror lovers, we're hoping that all visitors to this site during the Terrify Your Tablet Event might be able to donate $1 or $2. Anyone donating $5 or higher will receive a free eBook copy of Horrorsmith Publishing's Fear Forge Anthology, Fall 2024 Edition, releasing Oct 24.” (Horror Smith Publishing Team)

Although donating is not required to participate, with over 200 authors participating and thousands of books offered for free, it is the perfect opportunity to give back to your fellow horror lovers.

On the day of the event, participants must navigate to TerrifyYourTablet.com where they will have access to a searchable database that will show books available in their specific region for free download. Once a title is selected, users simply need to select “download” and immediately have the title in their eReader library!

I suggest visiting the site in the days leading up to the event and checking if the site is live. If the site becomes searchable, you will have the chance to look ahead and plan out the titles you are hoping to score.

I am beyond excited for this event and look forward to quite literally stuffing my Kindle full of all the horror and thrillers I can.
