EXCLUSIVE Stills And FrightFest Premiere Date For Vampire Laden "BOGIEVILLE"

Festival season is well underway, and with it comes a host of announcements and releases to get excited about. While the emergence of new horror films is always cause for celebration, festivals are still somewhat exclusive. While press and influencers may get access to attend, everyday fans may have to wait an extended period of time before they get a taste of those terrible delights. Take the breakout hit of 2024, The Coffee Table. A film that was making the rounds in 2023 at Fantastic Fest (case in point, our review from last year) and just now getting the distribution and attention it deserves.

With this barrage of news and excitement around upcoming releases, we are happy to share that “Bogieville”, the Sean Cronin-helmed Vampire road movie, is getting its world premiere at none other than the highly-regarded FrightFest UK! We had previously reported that “Bogieville” was making the rounds at Canne earlier this year so we are excited to see that the trip has netted a premiere. But that’s not all, because the team over at Magnificent Films and Television has shared with us TWO exclusive stills along with some more details about the upcoming premiere. We will bring you more information as it becomes available, including an interview with Sean Cronin himself!

From the Press Release:

LOS ANGELES, CA (July 11, 2024) British filmmaker, actor and “professional movie villain” Sean Cronin’s feature vampire road movie Bogieville has set its World Premiere at the 25th anniversary edition of the UK horror fan fantasy film festival FrightFest, taking place August 22-26 in London, England.

Bogieville – which was directed by Cronin from a screenplay by Henry P. Gravelle (The Over Easy Courthouse Café) was filmed in England, and is produced by Djonny Chen for Silent D Pictures, along with Cronin for Magnificent Films. Cronin as an actor has portrayed villains in dozens of box office hits, as well as having directed several award-winning titles.

Revolving around a young couple ‘Ham’ and ‘Jody’ on the run who come across the eponymous derelict American trailer park, they are convinced to stay by the sinister caretaker ‘Crawford’, although they soon learn that he is in fact the guardian of the residents of Bogieville, themselves a pack of blood-thirsty vampires. Indonesian film star Arifin Putra (The Raid 2) and newcomer Eloise Lovell Anderson (Villain) star, along with Cronin as the lead vampire ‘Madison’, Sarina Taylor (Solitary), Poppie Jae Hughes (Our Kid), Daniel P. Lewis (Wuthering Heights), Andrew Lee Pots (The Crown) and Katie Sheridan (The Royal Nanny).

Further titles among the twenty-eight world premieres on the FrightFest program include the feature directorial debut of Broken Bird from UK actress Joanne Mitchell, and the English premiere of Coralie Fargeat’s The Substance starring Demi Moore as a fading celebrity who uses a cell-replicating substance that creates a younger, better version of herself.

“FrightFest, the dark heart of cinema, has been beating loud and proud now for an amazing 25 years,” said co-director Alan Jones. “An incredible quarter of a century that has seen major challenges and transformations to the global film industry that FrightFest has embodied, embraced and emblazoned. Our past 25 glorious years have shown FrightFest in a state of continuous evolution, something we are determined will never, ever stop. So let the 25th Anniversary FrightFest begin.”
