FANTASTIC FEST 2024: Things Get Metal In Our Interview With The Team From "HEAVIER TRIP" (2024)

One of the best things about a festival like Fantastic Fest is the diversity in genre offerings present during the eight days of screenings. While we primarily cover horror and horror adjacent, we will remind readers of our tagline as being purveyors of “the darker side of pop culture” which of course includes heavy metal! One of the most anticipated films, for us at least, is the sequel to 2018s “Heavy Trip” aptly titled “Heavier Trip” which celebrated its world premiere at Fantastic Fest on Friday, September 20, 2024, to a sold-out crowd in Austin (our review coming soon). While we were there, we caught up with Directors Jukka Vidgren and Juuso Laatio as well as lead actor, Johannes Holopainen to talk about the sequel and what fans of metal (and those that aren’t) can expect after a 6-year hiatus!
