ICYMI: Director of 'THE WITCH' and 'THE LIGHTHOUSE' Returns With New Violent And Bloody Film 'THE NORTHMAN' [Trailer]

Director Robert Eggers has given us some pretty crazy psychological and supernatural stories with his past films ‘The Witch’ and ‘The Lighthouse.’ The director is back with a new film that is looking to be just as bloody as the history it’s based on.

The film is being touted as a “Viking Revenge Film” and we have your first look at ‘The Northman’ with a bloody trailer below.

Focus Features will release The Northman in theaters on April 22, 2022, described as “an action-filled epic that follows a young Viking prince on his quest to avenge his father’s murder.”

The cast in this one is absolutely incredible, with the official trailer promising a sweeping epic that should be precisely what fans of A24’s The Green Knight are looking for next. It’s not another *horror movie* from Eggers, per se, but we can expect that Eggers won’t be leaving the graphic violence behind in this one. Oh yes, Viking blood will indeed be spilled.
