'JOKER 2' Set For HALLOWEEN 2024 Release!
It was officially announced that a sequel to director Todd Phillips film, Joker, was indeed happening and Joquin Phoneix would return as the crown prince of crime.
The films official title is Joker: Folie à Deux and has now been dated by Warner Bros., arriving in theaters on October 4, 2024.
Deadline first reported the news this afternoon.
Joker was also released in October back in 2019, becoming a massive hit for Warner Bros./DC and pulling in over $1 billion in addition to scoring two wins at the Academy Awards.
Joaquin Phoenix is expected to return in the sequel as Arthur Fleck/Joker, with the film set to introduce a new version of Harley Quinn reportedly being played by Lady Gaga. This however is still rumor in regards to Gaga’s involvement.
“Folie à Deux,” for what it’s worth, is the term meaning “shared psychosis” or “shared delusional disorder,” which led many to speculate that Harley Quinn would be introduced.
Todd Phillips and Scott Silver are writing the sequel and it will reportedly have a musical element to it as well.
