Leigh Whannel's 'THE WOLF MAN' Clawing It's Way Into Theaters for Halloween 2024

Universal And Blumhouse are re-teaming with director Leigh Whannel’s (The Invisible Man) to bring a new take on ‘The Wolf Man’ to theaters. THR was first to report on this hair raising news.

Christopher Abbott (Poor Things) has been cast in the titular role. As you may recall, Ryan Gosling had previously been attached, with Derek Cianfrance on board to direct.

The Hollywood Reporter notes this afternoon, “Gosling and Cianfrance have both departed the project although Gosling will now receive an executive producer credit.”

Whannell’s Wolf Man will howl its way into theaters on October 25, 2024.

Wolf Man stars Christopher Abbott as a man whose family is being terrorized by a lethal predator.

Writers include Whannell & Corbett Tuck as well as Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo.

Jason Blum is producing the film. Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner and Whannell are executive producers. Wolf Man is a Blumhouse and Motel Movies production.

It’s interesting to note that Leigh Whannel’s Invisible Man has been the only profitable remake of the classic Universal Monster films in the last few years. The Universal “Dark” universe failed miserably with that Tom Cruise led “Mummy” film so we’re very eager to see what this new take on The Wolf Man will bring.
