More Disney-Inspired Horror Ahead With "Pinocchio Strings of Death"

While Pinocchio‘s origins go back long before the 1940 Disney film, most probably don’t know that the film exists because of public domain. You see, 1940 is the year that the original creator Carlo Collodi lost his character to the same mechanism that recently gave us Steamboat Willy and Winnie the Pooh. That 1940 film capitalized on an already popular book, there is no doubt some correlation between the landmark film and the rise in popularity of the source material. Hopefully, the irony is not lost on all involved and they can see the hilarity in this coincidence. And speaking of Pinocchio, it looks like we are getting another horror film taking on the trend of Disney-fying horror with public domain properties. From the press release…

Pinocchio Strings of Death is a new Disney-inspired horror film coming soon from director, Michael Moutsatsos.

Moutsatsos is known for Ravage (2023), Ravage Nation (2022), and The Butcher (2019),

In 1448 Count Maurice the Impaler of Tuscany was finally killed ending his reign. The stake used to kill him was infused with his blood.  Centuries later Gepetto finds the stake in The “Cursed Woods “ Unknown to him he uses the wood to create and unleash an evil force.  Pinocchio is born.
