Finally, the silence has been broken! News about the Alien franchise future has finally surfaced. There was plenty of speculation that the parent company of the Alien franchise (Disney) was going to shelve the franchise for years to come or at least when the time was right to release, so we guess now is good as a time as any.

John Landgraf of FX made what many thought to be rumor official, announced during 2020's Disney Investor Day.  The FX network has plans to move forward with a series based on the 20th Century Fox movie franchise Alien. With the creator of Fargo and Legion, Noah Hawley onboard as creator and executive producer chair with the network. Ridley Scott is still in talks to join as executive producer.

According to some sources, the series will show us the early accounts of the Alien story set on Earth. The series will crossover timelines and events with Scott's 1979 original Alien movie and James Cameron's 1986 Aliens.

We can't wait to see what's to come. We're keeping our fingers crossed to have Ridley Scott back or James Cameron in the director chair for at least an episode or two. How about a cameo from none other than Sigourney Weaver to reprise her role as Ripley, possibly? Tell us what you think, are you eager to see the xenomorphs back on a new project? Keep checking back with Macabre Daily for future alien news.
