New Trailer for 'WITCHBOARD' Remake Teases Chuck Russell’s Return to Horror

That remake train just keep chugging along and the next flick to get eaten up by it is ‘WITCHBOARD’, that’s not ass as director Chuck Russell was picked to return to horror for this film and we’re eager to see his take.

Here’s the plot synopsis for the remake: “Emily (Madison Iseman) and her fiancé Christian (Aaron Dominguez) discover a mysterious Wiccan artifact, a pendulum board, as they prepare to open a bistro in New Orleans’ French Quarter. A darkness descends over Emily as she becomes obsessed with the board’s power of divination and ability to summon spirits. Desperate to help his fiancé, Christian seeks the advice of occult expert Alexander Babiaste (Jamie Campbell Bower). But Babiaste has secrets of his own, including his connection to a modern-day coven of witches. A dangerous game begins as each swing of the pendulum puts Emily’s very soul at risk.”

Witchboard is coming 2024, though the release date has yet to be revealed.

Madison Iseman (I Know What You Did Last Summer), Aaron Dominguez (Only Murders in the Building), Antonia Desplat (Shantaram) and Charlie Tahan (Ozark) will star.

Previously announced, Jamie Campbell Bower (“Stranger Things”) also stars. His ominous voiceover launches the teaser.

“There is a tradition in cinema of great English actors that have the charisma we associate with stardom as well as the acting chops to truly be a chameleon, playing a variety of character types,” Russell previously said. “Jamie Campbell Bower is that kind of actor and his time is now.”

Russell will direct, and he also co-wrote the script with Greg McKay.
