Sarah Michelle Gellar Has No Desire To Play "BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER" Again

Buffy Summers was introduced to the world in 1992 by Kristy Swanson in the movie, but has famously, and most memorably been associated with Sarah Michelle Gellar, in the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” television series, which ran from 1997 to 2003. Over those years there has been talks of a reboot or rehashes of the show.

One person who is not interested in coming back to the world that Joss Whedon created is Sarah Michelle Gellar, who stresses in a new chat with SFX Magazine that her days as Buffy are long behind her.

I am very proud of the show that we created and it doesn’t need to be done,” the actress told the outlet when asked about a reboot. Gellar added, “We wrapped that up.”

She continued, “I am all for them continuing the story, because there’s the story of female empowerment. I love the way the show was left: “Every girl who has the power can have the power.” It’s set up perfectly for someone else to have the power. But… the metaphors of Buffy were the horrors of adolescence. I think I look young, but I am not an adolescent.”
