‘Silent Hill 2’ Remake is “Technically Ready” Says Bloober Team CEO
Progress on Silent Hill 2 has gotten an update today from Bloober Team that it is “technically ready”, according to Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno. Babieno revealed the status of the highly-anticipated return of the franchise in a recent translated interview with Polish website Bankier.
“Silent Hill 2 is technically ready. That doesn’t mean the game is over, but we’re close,” explained Babieno. “However, the issues of the publishing schedule lie with our partners, what the promotion will look like and when the title will debut, it does not lie directly in our hands.” This is the latest update on Silent Hill 2 since Bloober Team had revealed last October that the game was in an “advanced stage” of development.
Elsewhere in the interview, much like Babieno’s interview with IGN a few weeks back, the CEO talked of Bloober Team’s evolution as a company. “We are slowly moving away from storytelling in favor of games that will be based on mechanics recognizable to the broad consumer.”
According to Babieno, market research showed that Bloober Team titles had a “sales ceiling” of two million copies, which Babieno hopes to eclipse soon with Bloober Team’s 3.0 evolution. “It can be assumed that 10 million copies sold is a reach that will soon be real for us,” Babieno said.
This news sounds great for Silent Hill fans and it will be nice to stroll through that foggy town once again.
