"TEEN WOLF" Star Reflects On Scrapped "THE LOST BOYS" TV Series

The Lost Boys’ is undoubtedly a staple for the 80s and the vampire genre in general. The CW knew this going into the development of a possible TV Series based on Michael and the boys from Santa Carla. Sadly, only a pilot was filmed and then the entire project was scrapped. Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey starred in a pilot that was filmed for the new take on the material and in a new interview with io9 he shared his excitement and ultimately dismay in the pilot not turning into a series.

"I was, we filmed it ... just the pilot," Posey shared with io9 about being part of that project. "I love The Lost Boys. I really wanted to make that happen and I think, creatively, there were a lot of differences, from the network, from the creators, so I think it was just maybe the wrong fit for everybody. The wrong time, maybe. And then I just felt like the guy to remake '80s vampire/werewolf movies and so I was down to be that guy."

The only thing that makes sense to us is that the news of a brand new The Lost Boys film was announced in 2021 and this might have been why the show was scrapped in total.

Now before you get your fangs in a tizzy, this new iterations of The Lost Boys are supposed to be a “reimagining” of the original film so who knows what that means.

We’ll keep you posted on anything THE LOST BOYS as it drops.
