Terror Films Releasing Acquires Rights to Sci-Fi Horror, “CORA”

The threat of the world ending around us is a thought of doom that hangs above our heads on a somewhat daily basis. We are reminded of the possibility of it happening in the books we read and especially the movies we watch. Horror movies with a post-apocalyptic theme often explore the terrifying aftermath of the collapse of all society, portraying a world stripped of order and civilization. These horror movies delve into the primal fears of survival in a barren landscape, where threats come not only from the remnants of the darkly driven existence of humanity. It also has some horrifying elements of danger main characters tend to survive. It can be anything from mutated creatures, supernatural forces, or environmental cataclysms. The terror arises from the bleakness of a future where the familiar joys of life are gone, and the struggle for existence is constant. This horror theme and genre captivates audiences with its intense atmosphere and existential dread. It can inspire a dedicated fandom drawn to its exploration of humanity's resilience and vulnerability in the face of overwhelming odds. It will linger with you long after and wonder if you have what it takes to survive in a new world like this.

From the Press Release:

Terror Films Releasing has teamed Black Mandala and directors Sonny Laguna and Tommy Wiklund to release their apocalyptic horror film, “Cora” in North America while Black Mandala oversees Worldwide sales.

This movie stars Felicia Rylander and Thomas Lennon. The story follows a woman who seeks out the truth about the organization she's been working for in the aftermath of the apocalypse. Laguna & Wilkins shared their thoughts about making this movie in a recent press release from Terror Films Releasing:

“Being the sixth film from us at Stockholm Syndrome Film, Cora is a special project that moves away from the usual horror genre I’m used to do. Cora’s story - While being contained and small, centered around one woman’s destiny in a dying world; The setup is as grandiose as any other apocalyptic sci-fi story. This film contains many visual effects, created just before the A.I boom we see today, the hardship we faced in the making of this became our greatest challenge to date. The same can be said about our titular character Cora: Her struggle and obstacles to overcome will hopefully move the viewer as they watch the story unfold.

Terror Films releasing will premiere the film across multiple platforms on September 27th, 2024, including Apple TV, Amazon, Tubi TV, Chilling, and many more. Stay tuned to Macabre Daily for our in depth review of this chilling post apocalyptic horror movie.
