The Best Castlevania Games Get Bloody Good Physical Editions for PS4!

Castlevania is one of my favorite video game series of all time. Sure, the entries can be uneven and sometimes punishingly difficult, but their mark on horror video game history cannot be understated. When it comes to the best Castlevania game, there is no question it’s “Symphony of the Night” on PS1.

“Symphony of the Night” (SOTN for short), is the template from which every single “metroidvania” game owes a great deal of credit. It took the 2D platformer into the RPG age, and gave us one of the series’ best characters in Alucard. So when I saw that LIMITED RUN GAMES is bringing SOTN and the prequel game Rondo of Blood to PS4 I damn near cried. Rondo of Blood, known as Dracula X stateside on the SNES also had life on the short-lived PSP as “Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles,” makes this release from LIMITED RUN GAMES a must-buy for any Castlevania fan. Read below about the release and the various versions you can pre-order before release this Friday, January 14!
