The Live Action 'MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE' Finds New Home At Netflix - New Actor Found For He-Man
Rumblings of a live action ‘Masters of The Universe’ film have been the talk of Hollywood for literally years and now finally, we just might get that trip to Eternia our 80s hearts desire.
In saying that, todays news of the film finding a home at Netflix makes total sense. Noah Centineo had originally been cast as He-Man for the Mattel/Sony movie, but Deadline lets us know today that Kyle Allen (Westside Story) has now taken over the role.

It also appears the film has some heavy hitters involved in it as Adam and Aaron Nee (The Lost City) is directing the Masters of the Universe movie, which has a script they wrote with David Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings).
The movie will be based on the beloved Mattel toy-line, which spawned a successful animated TV series (1983-85) as well as the 1987 live-action film starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man. The property centers on the warrior He-Man, the last hope of a magical land called Eternia.
“In Masters of the Universe, an orphan named Adam discovers he is a prince destined to be the savior of a faraway land and must quickly learn of his power and the importance of saving his true home from an evil force.”

“We’ve always been inspired by the fantastical world of Eternia,” said producers Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch. “This movie has been 14 years in the making for us and our partners and we are so excited to tell an entirely new story for Masters of the Universe with the Nee Brothers and Dave Callaham for Mattel and Netflix and share it with a global audience.”
Netflix is looking like a haven for all things He-Man . There are already two cartoons on the streamer and one was written by Kevin Smith entitled Masters of The Universe: Revelations, we really think you should check out if you’re an old school MOTU fan like we are.
