VISUAL VENGEANCE Is Back With "KUNG-FU RASCALS"!

It’s no secret that we at Macabre Daily are huge fans of Visual Vengeance (check out our reviews of their catalog). The off-shoot of Wild Eye Releasing which focuses exclusively on SOV and low-budget films has made a name for itself in a rather crowded space by curating a selection of films that are familiar to few, but entertaining to pretty much everyone. Their brand of schlock isn’t just repackaged old rips, but rather remasters often using original tapes that include a massive amount of often newly commissioned special features with the original cast, crew, and filmmakers. Visual Vengeance often goes into hibernation in the spring and summer, only to awaken again in the Fall and Winter with a host of exploitative delights.

One of the first announcements for their upcoming slate is “Kung-Fu Rascals” and we have all the details about what’s included as well as some images from the release. Check out the information below, and you best believe we will be reviewing this and the other Visual Vengeance films when we can!

Hollywood special effects legend Steve Wang's Super 8 debut film Kung Fu Rascals features hours of bonus features, including commentaries, rare BTS footage, and a brand new feature-length documentary on the making of the film. 

For the first time ever on Blu-ray, Steve Wang’s 1992 Super 8 cult classic coming from Visual Vengeance this October.

 When their village is threatened by an ancient dark lord known as The Bamboo Man, a master thief, and his two sidekicks steal a map and set off on a quest to find the only superpower in the land big enough to save their home and rid the world of evil. But these Rascals will have to kick, punch and fart their way through every ninja, monster, and mutant in sight before they can restore peace.  

A frantic, eccentric, and loving homage to Asian cinema in all its forms, Kung Fu Rascals is part of an old-school chop-socky movie, Kaiju flick, and Power Rangers episode rolled into one. The directorial debut from legendary Hollywood special effects artist Steve Wang (The Monster Squad, Predator, The Guyver, Drive), this Super 8 epic showcases both his monster make-up mastery and sharp action movie sensibilities.
