ARCHIE HORROR'S "MONTH OF MAYHEM"

It may be a few months away, but the creative team at Archie Comics are ready for the Spooky Season. The Archie Horror's Month of Mayhem is a fall event featuring all new TPB and three one-shots in late-September and into October.

Archie Comics Senior Director of Editorial Jamie L. Rotante commented on the overall production of Archie Horror "So much of what people think of as Riverdale, and even Archie Comics as a whole, is wrapped up in Americana, a nostalgia for a bygone era peered at through rose-tinted glasses. This takes people's preconceived notions of not only the friendliest town on earth but the superficial and oft-misguided view of Archie as a 'retro' company and turns it on its ear. There's so much more beneath the facade, and while this comic unearths a darker side of the truth, our goal as a company is to always invite people to look at what we do beyond your childhood notions of Archie, and appreciate every chance we take with our publishing and our ideas."

The Month of Mayhem itself will start on September 12, celebrating the past of Archie Horror with Chilling Adventures – The Anthology Collection, a complete trade paperback compendium of the Archie Horror’s recent one-shots and short stories.

On September 20 the next instalment for the Sabrina villain, Madam Satan, will be revealed in the one-shot Madam Satan: Hell on Earth. After she waged war at Baxter High and Hell descended on Earth, Madam Satan seeks refuge from Lucifer in a random suburban house.

The next release Welcome to Riverdale will come out on October 11, a one-shot story introducing the character Ginger Snapp and her investigation into the suspiciously nice residents on the titular town.

Then to round off the Month of Mayhem, on October 18, you can get your copy of Fear the Funhouse Presents... Toybox of Terror. As a follow up to last year’s Fear the Funhouse, the Toybox of Terror is presenting three toy-related thrillers, described by Rotante as “Pulling from both M3GAN as well as iconic series like Child's Play with a dash of Small Soldiers thrown in for good measure, the writers for Toybox of Terror all delivered big time on their stories, with each one being a unique take on the theme, all with a special Archie flair."

The full collection of the Month of Mayhem already available for pre-order.
